An ingredient list is not a clinical trial
A formula can list a well-known ingredient without matching the preparation used in research. Check amount, ingredient identity, route of use and study population before transferring an outcome to a product.
MSM trial context
Debbi and colleagues (2011) studied 49 people with knee osteoarthritis for 12 weeks, using 1.125 g MSM three times daily or placebo. Some function measures improved; the authors described the changes as small and their clinical significance uncertain. The catalogue blend lists 150 mg MSM per 5 ml. That is a different exposure, not an instruction to increase the product dose.
Collagen trial context
Clark and colleagues (2008) randomized 147 athletes to 10 g collagen hydrolysate daily or placebo for 24 weeks; data from 97 were evaluated. Some pain measures favoured collagen. The study had attrition and industry sponsorship. The catalogue lists 150 mg collagen per 5 ml without specifying an equivalent hydrolysate. Neither the form nor quantity should be assumed comparable.
What this means for the blends
The natural, strawberry, melon and mint products combine these ingredients with snail extract and botanicals. The reviewed trials did not test those combinations or show that they regenerate cartilage. Their purpose here is to make the comparison transparent. Ask about the current label and collagen source; do not exceed directions.
Product-specific considerations
The blends contain alcohol and list walnut and celery among the botanical ingredients. The source advises against pregnancy/breastfeeding use and use below 16. Check the complete label and discuss suitability with a clinician or pharmacist when relevant.
